ACADEMIA
QUI ES-TU?
Axel Vervoordt presents Academia:Qui es-tu?,
taking place at la
Chapelle de L'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris,
from September 10 until November 23,2008.
It is the second part of the trilogy
which started with the exhibition
 Artempo:When time becomes Art and
which ran at the palazzo Fortuny in Venice,
between June and November last year.
The trilogy will be completed in 2009
with the Venice-based L'infinito del Non Finito.

Etymologically,Academia,or Academy,refers to an
institution of higher learning and research or honorary membership.
The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy
founded in approximately 385 BC Akademia, north of Athens,
a place known as a sanctuary of Athena
the goddess of wisdom. Set in a non conformist,
evocative,and free spirited atmosphere,
the soul of Academia:Qui es-tu?
subtly resonates with that of the first Academy.

ARTEMPO
WHERE TIME BECOMES ART

El Anatsui installation

TIMELESS
If,as the Greek philosopher Zeno claimed,
time does not exist, then there is no doub
that the timelessness represented in this exhibition
by objects and works of art from a variety of
cultures and eras does not exist:
a mask by the Italian artist Marina Merz
 alongside three faces by Picasso
next to a weathered Neolithic stone face,
in addition to a simple,oft-repaired old vase
or dust dancing in the sunlight by Sabrina Mazzaqui.

ARTEMPO,foi uma exposição que aconteceu
em 2007 no Palazzo Fortuny em Veneza.
E reuniu vários artistas de épocas diferentes
como,Marina Abramovic,Arman,Francis Bacon,
Chistian Boltanski,Louise Borgeois,Alberto Burri,
Cai Guo-Quiang,Marcel Duchamp.Jan Fabre,Mariano Fortuny,
kimsooja,Pablo Picasso,Emilio Vedova,entre muitos outros.
Instalações de El Anatsui,Loris Cecchini,Anish Kapoor,
